As many of us know vBulletin re-introduced custom profiles in 4.0.8, unfortunately they didnt think about users who did not want to use custom profiles. The problem is that the member profile pages now ignore the stylevars completely and the profile pages look terrible!!

A solution was added by vBulletin that enabled the adminstrators to set a default global style for the profile pages, but this does not work very well if you use multiple skins and especially if the skins are dark and light skins.

The attachment on this post shows how you can set the default profile style, but this will be the default style for every skin on your board.

** To find the page in the screenshot goto your own profile page for your administrator account and then click "Customize My Profile" link in the top right hand corner of the profile page.

Here is the video tutorial on vBulletin.com explaining how to use this:

For customers who have multiple skins and need to use the CSS method download the *.txt file attached to this thread.
This TXT contains the custom CSS to make the profile pages matche the rest of the skin but please note this will disable custom profiles. So members will not be able to make changes to their profile pages.

I havent had a chance to try the CSS with BP-White yet and the above does not even work perfectly with BP-Black which is frustrating.

At the moment the only fix is in the attachment above :( 4.1.2 is getting released next week so fingers crossed vBulletin fix this bug

Sean -
Does this look like it was addressed in 4.1.2? The beta has been released.

TBH, I'm doubtful it was fixed.

Well after this post and the reply from Trevor Hannant i have my doubts as well:
http://www.vbulletin...705#post2111705

I am going to work on the above CSS for all the skins, but it's not perfect unfortunately but is alot better than the default colors.

I recommend the CSS fix above for users who have multiple skins and dont use custom profiles, but if you only have one skin use the fix in the attachment in the first post

Sigh.

Wonder how many years it will be before they give up 4.x and move to 5.x

I believe if they try and release 5.x anytime this year or next they will lose most of their customers.

Yes this can be done by following the screenshot in the first post above.

This works good if you have 1 skin or multiple skins that are the similar color, but say you have a white and black skin.. when you set a global profle theme to say match your black skin, the white skin will look awful.

Thanks mate, support ticket responded to.

For everyone else i had trouble getting the profiles changes to save as default for Thebrettster's forum.
Everytime we tried to save using the setting 'save as site default' the background would revert back to white for the Future skin.

What i had to do was save and then save as site default.

The top navigation bar looks great but the bottom is still an issue.

Hey mate in your additional.css template search for something similar to this:

div#pagination_top .pagination span a, div#pagination_top .pagination span a.popupctrl {background: #1a1a1a;} /* pagination background color */
And remove it.
