True that lol, Can you see the settings link in the top right corner when logged in?
If you can that means vBulletin succesfully merged the changes for you

I can't for the life or me remember what steps to take to update a skin?

I originally uploaded the eloquent skin as my master, and created a child skin from that which is my forum skin.

I have downloaded the 4.1.3 version but what to do next? I know I have done this before, but I have brain freeze lol

lol Gleedo!! Dont worry i have brain freezes about 10 times a day.

Backup the XML before upgrading incase of any problems. I believe your skin is highly customized?
Then import the new XML merging into the old skin. Click the box that says overwrite existing style.

But before doing this may i ask how many out-dated templates vBulletin reports in your backend? Because maybe you got lucky and the vBulletin updater managed to add the new changes automatically

I am using the Eloquent at the moment - it says i have two out-of-date templates:
Header
Postbit_legacy

The only reason I am upgrading it is because the 'Currently Active Users' section on homepage no longer displays the names of members online, just the numbers of guests and members online. I thought maybe the skin needs updating...

Hey mate, send me a support ticket with the custom versions of these 2 templates 'header' and 'postbit_legacy' and i will make the changes for you.

This way you wont lose your custom changes.

Well... of course I goofed up here somewhere and now my board lost all my changes :( I see the BluePearl banner and all the color changes I made last year are gone :( :( ... bugger!

Please tell me theres an easy way to fix this... pretty please!

I noticed there were 31 out of date custom templates that needed to be updated or reverted. I uploaded the new 4.13 files via ftp... then went to my admin panel and uploaded the XML file, over writing the parent file. The same 31 templates message was still showing, so I figured I should upload the XML over the child file so I did. Now I've got the problem.

Any ideas??

You knew I would be back asking for help after the upgrade sometime didn't you? LOL

*update*

I went in and manually changed all the stylevar changes I made again so all is well again. But I still have 31 templates that didn't merge. Nothing seems to be wrong with the operation of the site so am I ok in thinking it's fine to revert them?

Hey mate when you upload the XML again and vBulletin still shows the out-dated templates are you uploading the skin as a child.

Try uploading without it being a child and see if it works that way

Hi Sean,

I just noticed the 31 outdated templates are for the mobile theme and not BP-Black. Always work better after a full nights sleep and a cup of coffee... lol

Reminds me... do you have or intend to offer matching mobile themes? Just a thought...

Thanks bro.

lol! Nice one mate hehe

I am actually in the process of creating them, I want to make them so that they all share similar colors to their big brothers.
