I am new to BLUEPAERL SKINS but I have got over two years experience with vBulletin. I am sure I don't know everything but I am sure you will like this idea.
What you will need?
- FTP access for your forums;
- PHP file (you will be able to download it here);
- Custom headers with fixed size
FTP access
I'm sure lots of you have got FTP access to your forum folders. If you're not owner of the forums ask for help or just post it as suggestion. Lots of administrators doesn't have an idea about this.
If you have got access you will need to do new folder. There is not a rule for name but I recommend easy names like "header", "logo", etc.
Path (to new folder can be) /images/SeamusLight/header/
PHP file
You don't need to create your own files. You can download prepared file here (check attachments). You must upload this file to same folder where you will have headers (/images/SeamusLight/header/).
Headers
You will need to create some your headers. Size of headers for SeamusLight is 1920 x 121 px. Headers must have one of four formats. Supported formats are GIF, JPEG, JPG and PNG.
If you're using your own website logo you don't need to add logo to banners (logo is saved as logo.png in /images/SeamusLight/misc/)
Admin Control Panel
You will need to edit one file in Style Variable Editor. So you must go to your Admin Control Panel -> Styles & Templates -> Choose your skin -> Style Variable Editor -> And search for header_background.
Background Color: #252525
Background Image: url(images/SeamusLight/header/rotate.php)
Background Repeat: repeat-x
Background Image Horizontal Offset: top
Background Image Vertical Offset: center
